Auntie’s Laugh

Her husband ages,
wears decrepitude
like a badge of honor.
And she laughs
at how he rouses himself
to Chinatown for a haircut
with his “girlfriend.”
The surging life
in her laugh
so surprising, so much,
she has to catch it
leaping from her mouth.
